John and Annie Glenn Historic Site launches third season with new exhibits NEW CONCORD, OHIO – The John and Annie Glenn Historic Site and Exploration Center opens for its third full season of operation this Friday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. with a variety of new displays to attract both first-time and returning visitors. New to the displays this year is an exhibition of three of U.S. Senator and astronaut John Glenn's Marine Corps uniforms, complete with the medals he earned. The uniform and its medals were meticulously checked by the U.S. Marine Corps to assure an accurate and appropriate presentation. Also added for this year is a display on World War I that features the experiences of both John Glenn’s and Annie Castor Glenn’s fathers, as well as a special exhibit spotlighting service during the Korean War. The John and Annie Glenn Historic Site and Exploration Center has hosted more than 13,000 visitors in its two-and-a-half years of operation. Director Don McKendry said, “Our goal is to continuously add new and exciting exhibits that not only will encourage new visitors to attend, but will tempt previous visitors to come back and see us again.” The facility is located on Main Street in downtown New Concord. Operating hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays. The museum is also available for tours and activities outside of those operating hours by special arrangement.
