Events – 2019

JAG (John & Annie Glenn Museum) —–

 Saturday, March 23  – 12:00 pm            Luncheon – “Remarkable Women, Past, Present & future” to feature presentations on life of a remarkable woman of the past, a local woman who has contributed to our community throughout her lifetime and a young woman with a bright and promising future. Reservations required.  

Wednesday, May 1 – 10:00 – 5:00          Opening Day – This year the Living History Presentation will be “1962, the year John Glenn orbited Earth”.

Tuesday, July 16 – 9:30 – 2:00              Space Camp “First Moon Landing” $20 – suitable for students ages 8 – 12 (includes pizza lunch and birthday treat)

Monday, December 2 – 5:30 – 8:00      Christmas Open House –  Everyone is invited in to the Glenn home the evening of the New Concord Christmas Parade to see the beautiful tree with Lionel train as John Glenn would have enjoyed when he was growing up in the village in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Historic Site volunteers will be serving hot chocolate and cookies on the front porch.

 

NRZG (National Road/Zane Grey Museum)

Sunday, April 29  – 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.                  Zane Grey Dayadmission by donation which supports the educational programs of the museum Zane Grey Activities will include:

  • Vintage Baseball by The “Ohio Village Muffins”
  •  Presentation by: Senecaville Fish Hatchery
  •  Dutch Oven Cooking
  •  Children’s Activities
  •  Musical Entertainment by: The Wayfarers and Sweet Adelines

Wednesday, May 1 – 10:00 – 5:00          Opening Day

Saturday, October 5 –  11:00 – 2:00 p.m.      Fall Festival   Click for Flyer

Activities will include scarecrow construction, slime making and pumpkin picking, and face painting. There will be musical entertainment by “Four Cousins” and a hot dog lunch available by donation. Tours will be given for $1 per person on this special day. All activities are free but donations are appreciated. Enjoy hot dogs, s’mores and cider   

Sunday, December 8 – 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.             Christmas Open HouseBring the family for an afternoon of fun and enjoy the beautifully adorned trees throughout the museum which have been donated by friends of the community.  Special holiday music will be performed by JG Company and spinning demonstrations will be going on throughout the afternoon. Make and take projects will include pinecone birdfeeders, buckeye necklaces and decorating sugar cookies. Enjoy the holiday refreshments including roasted chestnuts.
